The Gatehouse is a significant heritage listed building from the former Mayday Hills Hospital complex in Beechworth, North East Victoria.
It is a fine example of a two storey Italianate architectural design built in the 1860's. The Gatehouse is located within a picturesque and extensive parkland that contains a substantial collection of mature exotic and native trees over 150ha.
It is the first building on the curved drive as you enter the Mayday Hills site and is only 500 metres from the centre of the historic gold mining town of Beechworth, with its speciality shops, cafes and fine restaurants.
We hope you enjoy your stay. We initially bought The Gatehouse especially for our bike riding and sporting friends to make use of on their trips to the North East. Now that it's up and running we realise it will also be great many other kinds of special interest groups and of course family groups look for a great place where they can stay together. We're confident you will love it too.
